Rachel Bernard is program officer in the Office of Fellowships and Grants at the American Council of Learned Societies. She works with both the fellowship and public programs teams to help maintain, evaluate, and report on ACLS’s fellowship programs that support scholars in the humanities and related social sciences. Before joining ACLS in 2014, Bernard worked as a career counselor for graduate students at Columbia University’s Center for Career Education.

Bernard received her PhD in US history from the University of California, Berkeley, and her AB in history from Princeton University, where she also completed a certificate in teacher preparation.
