On the Passing of Kent D. Williamson

kentWe at ACLS are saddened to learn of the passing of Kent D. Williamson, executive emeritus of the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE).   As executive director of NCTE's College Forum, Kent was a longstanding and valued member of the ACLS Conference of Administrative Officers.  "Kent’s many friends in the ACLS community will miss his thoughtfulness, cheerfulness, dedication, and intelligence," said ACLS Vice President Steve Wheatley. "He led by serving."

NCTE is honoring Kent with the establishment of the Kent D. Williamson Policy and Advocacy Center in Washington, DC, and will mark his legacy at its 2015 annual convention.  For more information, see the NCTE website.
