Heads of Fellowship-Granting Organizations Meet at ACLS
On December 4, 2012, ACLS convened the fourth annual meeting of heads of national fellowship-granting organizations in the humanities. Meeting with ACLS President Pauline Yu were (pictured above, from left to right)

Philip E. Lewis, vice-president of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation;
Steven C. Wheatley, vice president of ACLS;
Geoffrey Harpham, president and director of the National Humanities Center;
Robert Dijkgraaf, director of the Institute for Advanced Study;
Edward Hirsch, president of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation;
Carole Watson, deputy chairman of the National Endowment for the Humanities; and
Stephen Kosslyn, director of the Center for Advanced Study in the Behavioral Sciences.
Participants shared perspectives on intellectual and organizational trends in the academic humanities and compared their protocols for the peer review of applications for research support.
