Oladipupo Oyeleye

Oladipupo Oyeleye is a Program Consultant in US Programs. He works to enhance ACLS’s effort at supporting member societies, higher education partners, and a community of fellows on issues focusing on digital and public humanities. He collaborates with colleagues in the division to design and manage re-granting programs and funding for humanities initiatives, assessing public engagement programs, assisting with annual fellowship and grant applications and recruitment processes. He also works with the ACLS Vice President’s office on African Humanities Initiatives, research, monitoring, and defining productivity metrics in digital humanities regarding publishing and access.

Before joining ACLS, Oladipupo worked at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center for the Humanities (CFH) as the Program Coordinator for the Humanities Exchange Undergraduate (HEX-U) program. He was responsible for recruiting and supporting scholars seeking to apply their learning and passion for community-oriented projects in collaboration with non-profit organizations and government institutions. He supervised the planning, logistics, fund disbursement, implementation, and evaluation of the scholars’ projects. Oladipupo also worked at the Consortium for Humanities Centers and Institutes (CHCI) as an Assistant on the Ideas from Africa podcast and the CHCI African Humanities project, “Mapping the Humanities in Africa,” where he collaborated with scholars from different parts of Africa on a section of the project.

Oladipupo is a Global Black Literature and Popular Culture scholar with an interest in Public Humanities. He has been a Fulbright Fellow, a Mendota Postdoctoral Fellow at UW-Madison and has won doctoral research awards in English and African Expressive Cultures. Oladipupo holds a Masters in English from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria; a Masters in Afro-American Studies, a Graduate Certificate in Public Humanities, and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
