Abstract

The training that I will get from the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Anthropology Summer Archaeological Field School will give me the necessary techniques in archaeology to carry out a collaborative project next year on Pangasinan chiefdoms prior to the Spanish conquest. By looking into Native American culture before and after the European contact as revealed in archaeological sites with the guidance of American archeologists, I will gain insights on how to deal with prehispanic sites in San Carlos City, Lingayen and other ancient settlements in Pangasinan that may reveal more about Pangasinan culture and civilization before Spanish colonialism.
