Hosted by Visit Austin, the annual convening drew leadership from 36 of the 81 member societies to discuss urgent issues facing academic societies and humanities and social sciences in higher education generally.
In addition to a new member orientation, the meeting featured in-depth sessions on navigating restrictive state legislation, supporting scholars in challenging times, and the future of academic publishing, as well as sessions for collaborative solution building on a variety of topics related to society operations.
The next CEO convening will take place in April 2025 as part of the ACLS Annual Meeting in Cambridge, MA.
ACLS stands up in support of the New College community and faculty and students at institutions of higher education around the country who are experiencing similar political interventions.
