"You Are ACLS: Celebrating Scholars Who Shape the World"

On Tuesday, September 17, ACLS welcomed dozens of guests for its 2024 Anniversary Celebration, “You Are ACLS – Celebrating Scholars Who Shape the World” at John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.

This special evening marked the founding of ACLS on September 19, 1919, this year with a fireside chat featuring Peter Lehner, former executive director of the Natural Resources Defense Council and director of the Sustainable Food and Farming program at Earthjustice, in conversation with ACLS President Joy Connolly. The two discussed what the climate change movement can teach humanities supporters about structural change and community building before inviting audience questions and comments.
