Cameron Awkward-Rich F’20, poet and assistant professor in the department of women, gender, sexuality studies at University of Massachusetts Amherst, has been awarded a 2021 Lannan Literary Fellowship for Poetry.
The Lannan Literary Awards and Fellowships were established in 1989 to honor established and emerging writers who have made significant contributions to English-language literature and demonstrate potential for continued outstanding work.
Awkward-Rich is the author of two collections of poetry, Sympathetic Little Monster and Dispatch. His book The Terrible We: Thinking with Trans Maladjustment, supported in part by ACLS, is forthcoming from Duke University Press in Fall 2022. Read more.
